Some Short and Sweet reviews of recent music purchases:
Tiare Helberg - Soft and organic, a little on the boring side.
M83 - Synthetic pseudo- 80's retrospective that works well on half the tracks
Love and Rockets "Sorted" - A best of that offers only some of their better tracks
Kings of Leon - The singer's voice is troublesome to my ears, but otherwise good stuff
Fleet Foxes "Sun King EP" - More of the same beautiful music on this initial EP as the full album that came after
Bauhaus "Crackle" - Another hit and miss Best of, should stick with the original albums
I'm Not There (soundtrack) - I enjoyed little of the self-important film about Bob Dylan's different personas, but most of the soundtrack is excellent
Deerhunter - an excellent band, excellent music
The New Year - former Bedhead often dreams well but still a bit too groggy at times
Album artwork is mine, taken from my photographs of googlings, then jazzed up on my laptop, I make these "cover covers" to cut and copy to my Itunes/Ipod, as I have no internet in my room.
dude!
ReplyDeletecheck out j. tillman's "Vacilando Territory Blues"... that's the fleet foxes drummer's solo (?) thing. very nice.
